ABOUT THE NAME??
Travis Marsh has been in the tire business for over 25 years. He started as a tire repair man in Prudhoe Bay and moved his way up to managing a fleet for a mine, learning how to repair and retread tires along the way. Travis founded Big Black Rubber in 2011, with the sole intent of performing hot-vulcanizing repairs on GIANT TIRES. He traveled to mines and villages around the state of Alaska, fixing BIG TIRES on big trucks. You’d be surprised how big of a hole he can fix!
 

A VALLEY NEED FULFILLED
Throughout the years, Travis was constantly asked if he could fix car tires or if he sold light truck tires, and he realized there was an unfulfilled need in the Mat-Su Valley. So, in 2015 he opened a full-service tire shop (bringing the name with him) and has been churning out tire changeovers and tire sales ever since. Ask about our price matching service!!

Additionally, Big Black Rubber recognizes that time is precious to everyone and this is why they offer tire changeover appointments – so you can be in and out in about 30 minutes. Walk-in’s are also welcome.
